Technology can unlock new ways to create, but it can't replace the human experiences, emotions, and imperfections that make music meaningful. That's why we build our models and products alongside artists, songwriters, musicians, and producers.
AI Should Enable Originality, Not Imitation
AI should help people create something new, not imitate someone else's work. This philosophy has guided how we've built our models and platform from the start. We use training strategies we call Original Creation, By Design to reduce the risk of unauthorized reproductions.

Community Guidelines
Our Community Guidelines cover what is and isn’t allowed on our platform. From the beginning, we have prohibited attempts to recreate existing songs, upload material people do not have the rights to, or use someone else’s voice or likeness. We also don’t allow bullying and unwanted contact, violence and hate, suicide and self-harm, sexually explicit content, restricted items, scams/fraud/spam, and false information. Intellectual Property
Unauthorized reproduction of existing songs, voice, or likeness.
Scams, Fraud, and Spam
Impersonation, phishing, bot activity, fake engagement, ban evasion.
False Information
Deliberately deceptive content designed to mislead.
Bullying & Unwanted Contact
Targeted harassment, intimidation, doxxing, unwanted messages.
Violence and Hate
Hate speech, threats, glorification of violence.
Suicide and Self-Harm
Content that promotes or instructs self-harm or eating disorders.
Sexually Explicit
Explicit visual or audio sexual content.
Restricted Items
Promotion or sale of drugs, weapons, or other regulated goods.
Our Approach
We take a layered approach towards safety which includes proactive measures to prevent harm before it happens, detecting it when it does, and enforcing our rules consistently.
Usage policies and safeguards built into the generation process set clear boundaries up front.
We review content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.
Violating content is removed, and we take a multi-layered approach to content and account enforcement.
Promoting originality, not imitation
Suno runs a series of checks on user submitted content to block content that may be similar to existing recordings and lyrics. Rightsholders can also report infringement and submit takedown requests.
Reporting and enforcement
Use the report button available on clips, comments, and profiles. We review all reports fairly and take a multi-layered approach to enforcement including educational notices, content removal, and account action for serious or repeated violations.
